Arrows of Christ Leadership
Arrows of Christ is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Chairman & Alumnist
The world today is a difficult place to live! And, college students like you face academic pressures, relationship issues, uncertainty, anxiety, insecurity, and other monsters of trouble that lurk onerously and seem impossible to overcome. As a rising freshman, I pondered big questions like "Who am I?" and "Why do I exist?" Then, I came across a red Bible table, met a kind and wise pastor, and got answers! As a result, I want to pass on the blessing!
As the co-founder of Arrows of Christ, I helped steer our vision to help people "like me" find permanent victory, healing, and intimacy with Jesus Christ (to be clear, this is not prosperity gospel, but real spiritual intimacy and holiness). Anyway, I knew Christianity shouldn't be watered down, but it's also not meant to be dry or oppressive. Yes, we live holy, work hard for Jesus and take a stand even when it's tough - but it's all with great delight because we are simply conforming to our wonderful Lord (Psalm 40:8)! Although we never hold back hard truths, we always share them with great love (Ephesians 4:15).
If you are a Christ seeker, you are a precious soul in God's sight. And, I welcome you to join us daily under the red tents, weekly at our Bible study gatherings, and monthly at our public Campus Conversations! Meanwhile, I'll be praying for you!
After getting saved on July 11, 2019, I needed a Christian organization strong enough to guide my journey. And I needed a spiritual body able to help me stay on fire for Christ during the tough times. Arrows of Christ filled those needs! In this organization, my passion for evangelism has blossomed like a rose. I attribute these blessings and more to our uncompromising obedience to the Word of God.
As the incumbent president, I desire to see college-aged Christians ignited with love for God and join this great work. At AOC, you will find a strong community of believers fighting from the heavens with you and for you. I hope you decide to join our wonderful fellowship of believers! We are here for you daily under the red tents on Speedway.
My life was changed immensely for the better when I met the people of Arrows of Christ. They cared for me as their own soul, spent time showing me through the scriptures, and gave me solid biblical answers/perspectives that have changed my eternity. Most importantly, I was given the straight truth and was converted! I found him whom my soul loveth; Jesus Christ! Song of Solomon 3:4
Now, I have wholly devoted myself to this ministry at AOC. It's a work that I know impacts eternity, offers the word of God, and births Christain friendships with ministers that care deeply for your souls! Lastly, we stand on the preserved word of God and do all things for our precious Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. If you are a seeker on the UT Campus, I am here for you! Look for me daily, except for Sunday, out on Speedway under the red tents!
After two long years at UT Austin feeling lost and without any direction in life, I came across Arrows of Christ on Speedway. They warmly ministered the Gospel of the grace of God to me, and HALLELUJAH, I got saved! Since then, AOC has provided me with all the spiritual resources necessary to have a fruitful Christain life! I am now full of joy, knowing that my God-given purpose is to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and his boundless love (John 17:26).
From the steadfast ministry opportunities, overarching Biblical truth, and genuine fellowship amongst its members, AOC is the perfect place to help build God’s Kingdom. Regardless of your spiritual state, AOC sincerely cares for your soul and your growth as a Chrisitan. We welcome you (with an open heart) to come by the red tents on Speedway. We hope you will let the word of God be a light unto your path (Psalm 119:105)!
Pastor Mark J.
From my enrollment in the Executive MBA program within the UT system decades ago, I have been deeply invested in the ministration of college-aged students. Now in my office as a pastor of a West Campus Church, I have been privileged to expand my ministry reach to 50,000 precious students at UT Austin. This campus is my life's calling, and now I want to bless as many UT Austin students as I can in the name and power of Jesus Christ!
I see Arrows of Christ (AOC) as a profound bridge between the average spiritually interested college student and a real participatory Christian life. I am vigilant in my view that our AOC parachurch is NOT in any way a replacement for a good local New Testament church but simply a bridge to direct seeking students to the gospel and then assist them in finding a good New Testament local fellowship. This bridge includes fostering steadfast church attendance, voracious Bible reading, meaningful prayer time, and a thousand good choices. AOC first aims its members to a loving relationship with Jesus Christ and then emphasizes evangelism skills to save a lost world vis-à-vis the great commission of Matthew 28:19-20. As AOC's chief advisor, I hope to share my treasury of wisdom (such as it is) within a campus of rising Christ-seeking students while employing my deepest Christ-like love!
